At Synergy, if our AC technician offers you something like a Blue Tube UV light, it’s because you have a real issue with mold growth. If there’s not a legitimate benefit, we’re not going to sell you products that you don’t need. Whenever possible, a company should offer to show you evidence, in person or with a photo, of the problem at hand. It should be explained in simple language, so you know your real options.

In the unfortunate cases where a pushy salesman is offering AC service, buyers usually end up feeling frustrated or used. Our goal is to help find the best solution WITH you. Your opinions and priorities are of utmost importance. Any company that doesn’t listen, and is only trying to “sell you something” should be shown the door.

In our experience, many duct cleaners use these tactics to sell their services. Unless you’ve personally inspected your duct, you wouldn’t know if it’s moldy or clogged. If someone tells you it is, you assume they are telling the truth. Don’t assume. Ask for pictures. They should be happy to provide them.

Be wary of how prices are quoted by those companies you are interviewing. Are there are a lot of confusing exceptions or surcharges? We prefer to use a flat rate book so our customers know exactly what they’re getting. Pricing is not a spur of the moment decision, it’s a real number that means something.
